How subscriptions, renewals, cancellations and refunds work, who takes your money, and how to get it back when you are entitled to.

1. Who takes your money
Purchases and subscriptions in our applications are sold and processed by the app store you downloaded the app from, normally the Apple App Store or Google Play. The store is the merchant of record for those transactions. It takes the payment, issues the receipt or invoice, handles the tax, and it is the store that processes any refund. We never see your card number.
This means two things in practice. First, the store's payment terms apply on top of this policy. Second, when you want a refund for a store purchase, the fastest and usually the only effective route is to ask the store, not us. We will still help where we can.
2. Prices and tax
Prices are shown inside the app before you confirm, in the currency of your store account. Where the law requires it, and in the European Union, the United Kingdom and comparable markets it does, the price shown to consumers includes applicable value added tax, goods and services tax or sales tax. The store calculates and collects that tax based on the country of your store account. Prices can differ between countries because of tax, currency and store pricing tiers.
3. Subscriptions renew automatically
Unless the purchase screen says otherwise, subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period, for the same period, at the then current price, until you cancel. This is the default behaviour of both the App Store and Google Play, and it is disclosed on the purchase screen before you confirm.
- The renewal charge is taken by the store within 24 hours before the current period ends. Some stores attempt the charge earlier and retry on failure.
- Cancelling after the renewal has been taken does not stop that period. It stops the one after it.
- If the charge fails, the store may retry, suspend access, or downgrade the subscription according to its own rules.
4. How to cancel
You cancel with the store, not inside the app, because the store holds the subscription. Cancelling is always free and never requires you to contact us or give a reason.
- On an Apple device, open Settings, tap your name, tap Subscriptions, choose the subscription, then cancel. You can also do this from the App Store account screen or at reportaproblem.apple.com.
- On Android, open the Google Play Store, tap your profile icon, tap Payments and subscriptions, then Subscriptions, choose the subscription, then cancel.
- Cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends, since the store may take the renewal charge inside the final 24 hours.
- After cancelling you keep access until the end of the period you already paid for.
If you delete the app without cancelling, the subscription keeps renewing. Deleting an app is not a cancellation.
5. Free trials and introductory offers
Where a free trial or introductory price is offered, the terms, length and the price that follows are shown on the purchase screen before you confirm. Unless you cancel before the trial ends, the trial converts into a paid subscription automatically and the store charges the price shown. Trials and introductory offers are generally limited to one per store account, and per family group where family sharing applies. Starting a trial and cancelling before it ends costs nothing.
6. Right of withdrawal in the European Union, the United Kingdom and comparable markets
If you are a consumer resident in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, Switzerland or another country with an equivalent rule, you normally have 14 days to withdraw from a distance contract without giving a reason. For digital content and digital services delivered immediately, that right ends once supply has begun with your prior express consent and your acknowledgement that you lose the right of withdrawal. Confirming a purchase in the app and getting immediate access to the paid features is that consent and acknowledgement.
Where the right still applies, you can exercise it by telling the store, or by writing to us at hello@15xlabs.com with the subject line "Withdrawal" within 14 days of the purchase. You do not need to use a particular form of words. Where we can, we will pass the request to the store and support it. Nothing in this policy takes away a mandatory consumer right you hold where you live, including any longer withdrawal or cooling off period your national law gives you.
7. Refunds
Outside the withdrawal right, refunds for store purchases are at the discretion of the store, applied under its published policy.
- Apple: request a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com, or through Settings, your name, Subscriptions. Apple decides the outcome.
- Google Play: request a refund from the Play Store order history, or at play.google.com/store/account/orderhistory. Google decides the outcome.
- We will always support a refund request where an app was materially broken, where a paid feature did not work as described, where you were charged twice, or where the charge was not authorised. Write to us at the address below and we will put that in writing to the store.
Where a purchase was made directly with us rather than through a store, and the paid feature failed to work as described, we will refund it. Partial periods of a subscription are not refunded except where mandatory law requires it, and access continues to the end of the paid period in any case.
8. Price changes
We may change subscription prices. Where a change affects an existing subscription, the store notifies you in advance, in the way its rules require, and in most cases your explicit agreement is needed before a higher price is charged. If you do not agree, cancel before the next renewal and you will not be charged the new price. Changes never apply retroactively to a period you have already paid for.
9. What happens when a subscription ends
When a subscription lapses or is cancelled, paid features stop at the end of the paid period and the app usually reverts to its free tier. Ending a subscription is not the same as deleting your account, and it does not by itself delete your data. If you want your data erased, use the account and data deletion route. If you delete your account while a subscription is running, cancel the subscription with the store as well, otherwise it keeps billing.
10. Chargebacks
If you do not recognise a charge, contact the store or us before asking your bank to reverse it. A chargeback raised without contacting us first may result in the associated account and any related purchases being suspended while the dispute is resolved. Contacting us costs you nothing and is usually faster.
11. Scope and contact
This applies to this website and to every mobile application and service published by 15X Labs, without exception.
Billing questions go to hello@15xlabs.com with the subject line "Billing".
